Default I is back!!!

Well I'm back after a period of being away....primarily because my graphics card blew up about 8 months ago and I never replaced it as I didn't feel it was worth it.

Now though, I got a brand spanking new Sandybridge I7 PC with ATI Crossfire dual cards and I'm ready to rock.

I took a chance and got SH5 on the cheap because I just have to give it a go. Installing the updates for it now.....that said, can anyone provide me with a list of a couple of decent mods? Or a really good mod??

Is it ever going to be as good as SH3 was?

Thanks guys, good to be back

Already having problems, have to say so far I'm not impressed. I start the game, go upto the conning tower, and then when I climb up onto the bridge, everything goes black, and I can't see anything.

When I hit escape and the menu comes up, I can see.....yet when I go back to the game its all black. I can see everything inside the submarine perfectly fine, but out on the bridge it goes black. I can obviously move around because I can hear my feet on the metal surface of the bridge. I somehow managed to stumble into the captain and he prattled on with the subtitles on screen.....useless if I aint getting the immersion experience and getting the feeling of being there on the bridge with him.

Is this normal?? I know its meant to be "dark" outside, but surely not so dark you can't see a thing or anyone. Seriously, I've tried going three times now and the result is the same

Found out what the problem was, SH5 doesn't like my dual card config. Have to disable Crossfire before playing. ALl fine

Seems quite arcady to play though, not like SH3 that's for sure lol

Never played SH3, but 5 with Magnum Opus, IRAI, TDW´s UIs, Dynamic Environment and a couple of other mods is far from arcadish.

Yes it is arcady as stock, but is easily fixed with a few mods.

Install Magnum Opus, New UI's and IRAI. And turn the difficulty to 100%. That is all that is needed to get the game feeling like SH3.
