Default Diablo 3

...in my eyes, the most anticipated release of a game, period.
From a leaked Blizzard product slate, Diablo 3 will be released in Q4 of 2011.
After playing Diablo 1 many many moons ago, i was hooked.
And Diablo 3 just looks amazing...

the Barbarian looks friggin awesome:

and some official footage of the monk class:

Wow, is all i can say...

Let's hope the product slate stays true to its timeline and i will be playing this in 2011!

The product slate from Blizzard:

Titan will be the new mmo from Blizz, also note the release of the Wow movie and 2 more xpacs for WoW game.

They need 18 months to produce an expansion? There's entire games released on a shorter schedules.

Most of them aren't any good, but still.

Considering the resume of Blizzard games and the scope of games they release, 18 mths isn't too bad.
Consider also the current workload of games currently being supported, and the magnitude of those games: WOW and Starcraft 2!
Other game companies wouldn't take that long to release games as most of them only have 1 game to concentrate on at a time.

It's personal taste ofc, but imho Blizz have released some absolutely wonderful games in the past, most notably Diablo series, and Starcraft 1 and 2.
Blizzard have never released 2 games in the same year, and the slate indicates that.
Quality, not quantity, i'd rather wait 18 mths for a xpac, or, in the case of Diablo a few years for a full game, knowing that i'm getting a great game, full of content, replayability etc etc.

Yeah, was more in jest really. I understand why and prefer they do it like that, but on the other hand you have the stuff like CoD that gets rehashed every single year.

How dare you to defy Blizzard, Arclight

well...they dissapoint me a bit when they merged with Activision but still....How dare you!

I really wonder what Diablo 3 has in store in storywise that is.. but Blizzard has never failed me in that with the games I have purchases from them.

that product slate makes me sad actually.....
I do not see a new installment of a Warcraft RTS game one of the reasons I hate WoW of all MMORGPS so much!

The reason behind the 18 months it takes for the expansion to come out is to get maximum profit off the first release.

Can't wait for its release. Think I'll try out the witch doctor, as its closest to the Necromancer which was my favourite

How Diablo III’s DRM Will Affect You

Not being able to pause your game, for example.

Wow...just wow....

Blizzard has put the final nail in the coffin for me with Diablo 3, with their new policy they just zapped the last bit of my interest in the game. (thank you activision I know you greedy bastards are responsible for this)

Like the review stated it'll be probally most popular online but my intention is to enjoy this game in single player taking my time and doing it at my own pace without othe witless wonders hacking slashing about. The only reason I would bother Multiplayer was like in Diablo 2 is to co-op with friends.

Unless they remove this silly requirement for singleplayer (before or after release) I'm not interested.

I was actually warming up to it a bit, playing coop with friends at least. That kinda negated the always-online bit. But not being able to pause it in SP? I dunno, when I play something by myself it spends half of its time paused, while I'm reading an article or checking on something.

Just wouldn't work out for me.

Nor for me...imagine...
it's saturday night...you've gotten a lovely pizza in the oven but you're quite far in a quest in Diablo 3 far between checkpoints...then you'll eventually come across the dilemma..Burn or not to burn

I tend to pause quite a bit too or have the game idle on safe areas while I'm either distracted by phone/door or been called to help somewhere around the house for a bit.

this all can't be done in Diablo III...
