Uploading pics....Help

Ahoy,
Could someone give me a quick hint on uploading pics. When the URL box comes up, I'm not exactly sure what URL I'm supposed to type in to upload. (it's been awhile since I did this). If someone could just type me an example as to what the URL is supposed to look like. IE; HTTP//Desktop/SH4 pics, or something like that.
I have the pics on my desktop in a folder.

You have to upload the pics to a website like imageshack or similar. Once you do that it will give you a url to put in for posting on a forum.

Register, upload from your PC then you simply click on the "direct link" beneath your uploaded pic and copy/paste into the "Insert Image" URL box in your subsim thread.

Well, I tried and all I got was the box with the X. I pasted the picture URL from Imageshack several times and just kept getting the box with the X.

I'm pretty sure that this pic is not too big for the site.
Maybe I'll try photobucket as tomoose suggested.
One of these pics is kinda interesting...

Ahoy tomoose!! That was the ticket! I placed the pics w' photobucket, uploaded to this site and the pics shot right in.
