Der Kanal!

What a nice little channel, and good catches....

OK. You seem to be ready for manual targeting, and 100% realism, DID.

How nice of the admiralty to send out two grade A juicy targets for you (and some nice little ones too). Had been going around Scottland for the nice stray merchants going between England <-> Norway, screw that, next time will spend the hour or so using the Kiel kanal and spend some quality time and hopefully enjoy some of the Admiralty's generous hosptiality.

Once it hits 1940, der Kanal is a no-go area, as it becomes heavily mined by both sides.

Not if you know where the mines have been sown

I rather bag a Battleship in a convoy around 1940, just last week I bagged HMS Rodney in a slow moving weak convoy. But hey, if you like the English channel go for it.

Can not say I like the channel, it would be to exaggerate

but I wanted to shorten the time for my Grid BE99,and then I thought to go through the beginning of the war when we have not built up enough defensive / offensive minefield yet, and it worked apparently

I was using the channel until late 40 without problems. Saw some mines but never had any problems with them since I mostly hunted with my deck gun and only went to periscope depth when in danger. Never spotted anything bigger than a medium merchant there though.

Then you turn on your page or you ran with flank speed at all times to avoid being seen,
