That was yesterday, 24th. Today is the 70th anniversary of the beginnings of Dunkirk...

...imagine, all those little boats, torps would have to run at 0.5m!

Upon reading this thread I went into a cupboard in the house to look at a framed print I haven't had up for approximately 25 year, then looked up the artist, title etc.

What a shock I got when I googled the details in

http://www.directart.co.uk/mall/more.php?ProdID=16029

I know I have the HMS Belfast print plus one or two others I never had framed, in a tube container up in the loft.

Going up there tomorrow

Aft decking on the Hood was still wood, the Bismark fired AP plunging shells and a change in course resulted in her destruction. Makes you wonder what could have happen if the Hood was fully upgraded.

Wrong place at the wrong moment. If Admiral Holland had turned a minute sooner or a minute later history might have been different.

I have a feeling there was no " or a minute later" option available to the good Admiral.
