Default SAVE your game at/before 1st march 1941!

Hi all,

I read some posts of people who were dissappointed because they chose the mediterranean area. To those who are not there yet: to play both theaters you have to save your game just before or on the 1st of march 1941. From thereon a popup screen emerges on which you can choose in which area you want to play further (Atlantic or mediterranean). Play both by saving them under a different name.

Because prices are too high in the Mediterranean, and there are too much folks on the beach beetween june and september.
Also the water is more polluted than the atlantic.

You see several reasons to choose the atlantics operations ...

You're only in Italy for the first few months. Then you move to Greece. Which is a pain in the butt, because the eastern objectives are easy... and you keep having to go all the way back towards Gibraltar to find the stupid 2 battleships and 2 carriers.

When people know what's going to happen and therefore what to expect, something is wrong. Some dynamic campaign...

I think the missions are scripted - the affect completing them however, affects the outcome of the whole campaign - in a sort of dynamic way

And yet it's not very realistic to be shown a marked red circle on the map and being ordered to go there and sink certain ships that you just happen to know they are there.

I've been searching for target ships for hours now - finally found one , need another two so I expect to be searching a while longer. You don't just go to a dot and there they are (and surely the boats were sent to areas to search in WW2?)

I agree that tryng to sink a carrier for a mission is a bit of a tall order, but at the same time it makes the "go there - sink that" of all the SH games a little more interesting.

Just wondering - do you own the game?
