Default Officer injured, no commands available

I was attacked and my WO was injured. Now when we're surfaced, he still attends his post on the tower, however, I cannot issue a command, like Man the Deck Gun or Man the Flack Guns through his dialog. Is there anyway to heal him, so he isn't injured anymore?

I can still manually fire these guns, but I'd like my crew to take over.

And I just crashed to desktop..

I had flak guns manned, and since their aim is terrible I hopped on the gun, I "unmanned" them and instantly crashed to desktop

Think it was because I was on the gun when I commanded to secure from the guns?

Well, problems aside, it's nice to hear crewmen can actually be injured. There's been some concern about that. Has anyone seen a crew member killed? If so, how was that handled at the end of the patrol? Was he replaced with a new guy or resurrected ?

I don't think the crew can be killed, just put out of commission for awhile.

Don't get your hopes up too high, however. Having a crewman injured does nothing except disabling the abilities that belong to him. My 1WO was wounded, but he was walking in the control room as if nothing had happened.

And no, I don't want to see blood and gore. But at least a shout for a "Sanitäääter!" and removing him from the compartment would be nice.

Once the the flag that identifies his health is found, we can do stuff like that. There's a function called Wp:IsCharacterPosture() that I've been unable to identify the purpose of. Maybe it has something to do with his health. I'll have to do some investigation. Should be able to stick him in a bunk at least. This is all down the road, of course.

yes , it´s like an arcade 3d game , there are hidden health packs inside the boat and the crew uses the GOD cheat mode

If they are injured, they will stay on thier post as nothing happend.
over time they will get to full health.

To bad we cant controll this in the game to help put comerades.

If I recall you can still use the keyboard shortcuts (F7/action stations and F8/silent running for eg.). I'm not entirely sure as that was days, and patrols, ago.

[Rig for rant]
I hate how things such as manning deck guns and rigging for silent running are "abilities" that can only be performed by certain officers, only so many times, and only when he is not injured.

Damnit, I get it when it's things like yelling at the guys in the torpedo room to quicken their pace (they get tired, after all), but rigging for silent running? Manning or securing a deck gun? Is the Watch Officer really the only person on the whole sub who can tell crewmen to get away from a freaking gun? Do they get some sort of secret code word from the WO or something?

Just played the immensely enjoyable River Mayhem mission (sneak down a wide river/fjord/sea during Operation Drumbeat and wreck havoc on big, armed merchants and a small convoy), and I found I could only call for Silent Running and Battle Stations once, and even then they both went away after a while.

I mean, for crying out loud, I'm not asking you to cast a fireball, I'm telling you to order the crew to be quiet! The abilities system is nice and all (in reality, too, you could do things like ask the crew to work harder in an emergency or ask the chef to cook together something extra-nice to raise spirits), but certain "abilities" need to be made independent on officers and "mana".

I also dislike how skills is something you distribute, Dungeons&Dragons-style, rather than something your crew earns. "Good job at spotting that ship on radar, Fredrick, that's sure to make you better at... lemme see... yes, you've gained experience at sending messages without the enemy noticing!".
[Secure from rant]
