Hello Captains,
I have a question which I don't seem to be able to find answered anywhere. In SH3 (and in SH4 U-Boot expansion on German boats which I bought today and installed) the periscope movement is linked to gyroangle readout; so you can quickly fire to direction where you aim the scope. In SH4, US subs don't have the gyro linked - is it a historical detail, or is it by design of the SH4 game? I like the gyro linked to scope for those moments when I need quick firing solution at short distance for instance (..I usually aim slightly in front of moving target's bow and easily score a hit without need to input speed, AOB and distance). In SH4, in such a short distance - short decision time situations, I aim with the whole boat (with scope reset to zero bearing..takes however much longer to rotate the whole sub then to rotate the scope though.. Am I missing something? Thanks for info. |
