Default [Req] crowded conning tower?

isn't there supposed to be a helmsman there? somebody operating the TDC?

so what's that...5 or 6 the radar, sonar, helmsman, somebody working the TDC, and the XO?

I would love a mod that makes all the stations on the boat realistic...

thanks!

Have you tried Trigger Maru? That mod gets the conning tower SERIOUSLY crowded. IIRC, something like 8 people in it for the late-war boats at battle stations.

You'll find the conning tower a bit crowded in RFB as well. Just climb up there and hit the Battle Stations Alarm!

Side note: I was in a Gato CT once with 10 other people. That's when I learned for sure that I'm not claustrophobic .

Hmm ... Tough question to answer.

I don't think it's really harder unless you run into some nasty escorts in clear weather. But that's just good fun anyway . I use it in combination with RSRDC.

RFB strives for realism and does a good job IMO. I recommend DLing, kicking the propellers and taking it for a test drive . You can always move on to something else if it isn't what you'e lookng for!

Happy Hunting!

I dunno, I didn't find that RFB was a HUGE change over the base game. Missions were still the same, some internal stuff to the sub changed, and obviously sensor tweaks and such, but...

...compared to TMO, it still feels very similar to 'stock'. Maybe that's good? I dunno, seemed there were altogether too many "insertion" or "resupply" otherwise special missions compared to historical sub duties. Not that they didn't happen, of course, but it seemed every other missions in RFB/'stock' was along these lines.

TMO really changed that around.

Default TMO and RSRD

Gimpy;
try the combo of TMO and RSRD. TMO adjusts game aspects (such as a crowded conning tower, realistic sounds etc) while RSRD adjusts campaign aspects (realistic/historical shipping lanes = you have to hunt, they will NOT come to you). I've tried RFB which is also good but am finding TMO with RSRD to be an excellent combo.

RFB doesn't touch any of the campaign files.
