Default Fuel leaks

While testing escort sensors and depth charges damage, I noticed that almost always when I get hit, I lose close to 90% of my fuel. I am testing the S- boats and playing TM 1.7. Ive begun tweaking some files for DC damage using SD3

Will editing the ZON file and adding hit points to the FuelTank or OilLeak values change this??

Also, will editing the ZON file cure the "two for one" where one diesel destroyed will destroy both the engines??

thanks

I have found that increasing the hit points for the fuel tank zone does decrease the fuel loss .... I reckon the rate of fuel loss is relative to the % damage the fuel tank zone takes ... ergo the higher the zones hit points, the more damage it will need to take for an equal amount of fuel loss.

As for the engine damage ..... zones 21 & 55 provide propulsion (as does 29 - the engine room ... but only if you have more than two propellers).

If you are getting no drive with one engine damaged ...and it's one of zone 21 or 55 which is taken out, you should still have drive. There are dummy engines added (basically if the sub has more than two engines, only the two associated with 21 & 55 work) ... so if you've got both the zone 21 & 55 engines destroyed, it may look like you've got undamaged engines ... but you haven't really.

Please don't take the above as gospel with regard to RFB - it was all Observers work (as far as I know) and he's taught me just about everything I know ... so I am happy to be corrected.

Hope this helps.

do you know what needs changing in order not to have all engines destroyed by depth charges in a u-boot (I-boat in my case )

Make sure zones 21 & 55 are taking damage and the engiens will stop.

If you're not able to edit the zones, or aren't sure, I might be able to take a look for you.
