My understanding is that if you have injured crew members (not dead ones), and you put them in the same quarters as an officer or PO with a medic qualification, then the injured crew member may get healed up and return to duty before the end of the patrol. Previous discussions have included speculation about whether the presence of a medic accelerates the rate at which fatigued personnel recover. However, I don't recall anyone being able to definitively demonstrate any impact of medics on fatigue recovery.

Never had any wounded/injured crew members... only healthy or dead ones.

Different problem here. I have had wounded crew. I have had medics. Never both at the same time.

Currently working on a mod to remedy the medic problem. In my testing, contrary to what the SHIII manual states, the medic has no effect on fatigue or morale, only injury.

I heard that if the medic heal the wounded one before the end of the patrol, the poor guy won't get the wounded medal. I had this situation once, but not sure/remembered, and then I never put the wounded guy in the same compartment with the medic again:rotfl:

That is true; however, you can use CMDR to do this.

@ goggles: Phew, I thought I was the only one to think that too! Maybe I have been expecting it and have conditioned myself to believe that it does in fact happen!!

Is it only me who accidentally tested this?
I rarelly submerge when i see tommies in flying machines so my flak gunners' survavibility is 2-3 patrols the most. So, yes. When you have medics with you, the wounded bootsmen will heal faster. And if the qualified man is an officer, then you can be sure that your bootman will be patched up and ready for the next encounter.

That's true; Depending upon the mod you use with SHIII, healing can be very fast. This can easily be make more realistic, however.

Yes, the crew member will recover his endurance with a medic in the quarters, but the medic doesn't make the recovery FASTER than it would be otherwise. There is a difference between recovering endurance and recovering from wounds.

So, is there any point in giving an officer the medic qualification? And if both he and a NCO medic are in the same compartment, do they stack?
