Default Brave? Daring?...Lucky?....Successful !!!

Hi fellow Kauliens

Playing GWX2.1 (Fantastic ..Never fails to suprise)
and having suffered various graphics problems (SORTED) find myself setting out from Wilhemsaven 1st Jan 1940....

Its my 3rd patrol (AM54 classVIIB) and nothing to report and we are sailing up East coast of UK when contact comes through about lone merchant heading West into approx Newcastle.
Change course...lets have a look (I dont like going too close to shore) Spot the Merchant and 1 Torpedo does the job (04.00 Jan 4 1940) I'm 7-10Km from coast..Order return to course.....
Radio report convoy heading WSW a few Kms North of my position (going to Newcastle??)....Order FLANK Speed NNW to intercept....Decks awash When My Lookout shouts "Ship Spotted " (04.30) Through the binoculars I see a J+K class 15 degrees off bow at 1800m
He hasn't spotted me....I proceed Still doing 13 knots decks awash
I spot 2 large cargo, 2 passenger, 2 Ore ships, 1 Southhampton Class within a 20 degree radius ranging from 1500m - 3000m with various smaller targets dotted around and my watch has spotted submarine escort x2
I fire off 4x forward tubes (Target Large cargo x2) and hope my crew(changed to have max experience) can reload in time to take in Ore/Passenger ships (most distant)
I am 400m short of Large cargo when torpedo strikes and all hell breaks loose ...Star shells go up and tracer is flying...Dive to 20m......another 3 explosions...Periscope depth....I see behind me 2 Cargo ships in flames and Ore ship Passenger ship a couple of degrees port and starboard off bow...range 900 and 1500....Tubes 1+2 ready...1 for each... FIRE.....Reload Reload Reload Tube 3 ready, Ore ship fire....Tube 4 Ready, Passenger ship Fire....(04.57)
Wheres the Navigator..Whats the depth....70m Go 65m silent running 1 knot .....Ive got 3 destroyers combing the area but I survive unscathed and have the cheek to surface and take another lone cargo less than an hour later with the deck gun

Navigator....forget the patrol area......we're going out for a few Schnapps when we get home

For the patrol I sink 57000 tons (7 ships..1 got in the way somewhere)

Best hour I've spent on GWX2.1

Thanks guys

maddysad

Make the aggressive move at the right time and you are the genius, make the same move at the wrong time and you are fish meat. May your luck stay with you till 1945.

You're exactly what the KM needs!

Although...what happened to the Southampton? You don't mean that you let it go, do you? Onkel Donitz isn't going to be pleased with 11000tons of warship slipping away...
