It's draft must be deeper when loaded with thousands of tons of goodz, so the anti-fouling paint won't show

I think

Yes, Raptor, it's definitely running light. It's unusual to see the rudder so exposed. Still, hot pink anti-fouling paint? And this is the second freighter I've seen with the hull the color of bright rust. I suppose that means the real rust doesn't show!

Ya know what they say, It may not look pretty but it does its job.

That paint once was red, but months at sea with the sun and saltwater wearing at it changes and dulls it.

Who cares about the paint?! Even if it was all grey, it's still ugly!:p

I know, I know: "But it's functional and does its job well."

That's what you get when you go for the lowest bidder for the painting job!

"Functionally elegant" as the builders of the A-10 would say...:hmm:

Oh! I know! It's an antisubmarine vessel in disguise. Any Kilo captain who tries for a periscope attack on the big, inviting merchant contact on his sonar would go away blinded for life. Them are tricky bastards in the merchant fleet.
