ahoy shipmates - is this ok?
Hello everyone - how are you all? Long time no visit.. yes, I am well thank you, tail-wags.
Now then... I reformatted my C: drive yesterday ( I do it about once a year to keep down the crud), and that meant, although I keep my games on another drive, that I had to re-install SH3 again so it is properly registered. Fine. Not a problem. I fired it up in its original OOB state to see if nHancer had sorted out the failings of my nVidia card. It had - bootiful it were. Odd thing tho, I started a career as Player, and discovered that I was not starting a new mission but in the middle of a previous one, and working from Wilhelmshaven. That foxed me as I thought the savs were parked on the C: drive, and I wiped that. However, they might have been moved to where I send all my docs, which would explain it perhaps. Well while I was in the game, there were details that I enjoyed all over again from the pre-GWX version, and I wondered if it might be possible to run two current copies of the game - one vanilla and one enhanced with GWX. Just to see if it would run, I shut down vanilla and went into the GWX folder that I had been running from pre-reformat, and fired it up to see if it would also run. I chose the same profile as in the other game, and found it also picked up from that - so I guess they are both using the same refernce for savs ( makes sense). I would like to continue running both games, so if I choose a new career and new profile in the vanilla version so the savs don't conflict, do you think that will work? ![]() |
