Not Enough Hands?
I got my first boat upgrade today since I began 1.5.
There were not enough crewmen available to fill all the slots. Only remaining available personel were officers, and I have my full complement of officer ranks. I had to sail without some departments being fully manned. Gunners were moved to help fill some watch slots. This has to be unique to version 1.5 because all the other versions had a superabundance of hands of all ranks and ratings. I'm liking this. ![]() Any advice on managing the shortages? All I did so far was move a few of my experienced hands to help out in the departments that are short of men. Anything I'm overlooking here?

As for handling the shortage, I can't offer any advice. If you need and want more crew, you can start your patrol and then end it without saving. Then reload the auto-save on leaving port and grab some more crew. Granted, it may cost some renown, but at least you'll have a reasonable size crew instead of being totally short-handed.
Edit : You may end up with several crewmembers with the same name though. |
