Default Total Tonnages So Far - Opinions?

Here's a screenshot of the blackboard Top Skippers Scores found in your office at the end of each patrol.. I will update the link to a new photo as new tonnage comes in and total number of patrols changes..

What do ya think?

8 patrols on 100% realism 351,553 total tons.
Most recent mission: Photo Recon Tokyo Harbour (lots of sitting ducks this time)
Patrol result: 17 merchants, 8 warships, 2 zeroes, 2 search planes. (1 carrier, 2crusiers, 2 DD's, 2 subchasers, 1 gunboat)

I think it's way too easy.

Yeah.... it is like fly fishing a stream where you catch a 10 pound brownie on every cast.

After the first couple of days it becomes ho-hum.

It is so easy on full realism I have to wonder just what you could accomplish with 0 realism and one of those mods that gives you "super powers" ?

Though I ain't about to find out firsthand...

I'd say it's time to crank up the difficulty with RSRD and TMO, then kill the harbor raids. However your tonnage isn't in the realm of the real gamers, who are bragging about amassing 100k tons in a single cruise without a refit. I figure 30 - 50k per cruise is darn decent with a halfway realistic setup and coming in under 10k isn't unusual. That's still too easy, but that's SH4 with any set of mods so far.

I sank 100k tons without a refit in SH3 one time, but it was before GWX and I wasn't using manual targeting then. Besides, most of the kills came through the deck gun because I had a more than 2 week period of calm seas. Since I switched to manual targeting and TMO/RSRD, I consider myself to be doing very well if I sink 20k tons in a patrol. I topped 40k tons once, but the biggest chunk of that came when I got advance radio notice of a BB transit, and caught a Kongo on the way home.

Realistic tonnage would be 'boring'.

I can imagine the posts here "I went an entire patrol and all I saw was a fishing boat"

Anyhow thats why it is as it is.
