What a stroke of luck.
15 March, 1944, grid AM 36, sighted Bogue Escort Carrier. Sank two River Destroyers Escprts, sank one Bogue Escort carrier. Return to course. Heading to Grid AM 17. Sighted large convoy, grid AM 27. Turned wsw. Sighted convoy. Sunk two t-3 tankers. Sunk two Troop transports. Sank one River Destroyer escort. Sank two Flower Corvetts. Cruising in IXD2, weapons load-out, 8 T-IV Acoustic torps. 8 Fat I torps in the fore castle. 8 T-V Acoustic torps in the stern. Successful cruise! |
