Hans Stuhldreher and crew killed by escorts

On January 12,1940 Hans Stuhldreher and U-47 engaged convoy OB36 for 1 1/2 hours successfully sinking 25K+ tons of shipping. She was eventually discovered by the escorts and took a lucky hit from a depth charge that caused her to go to 224 meters depth before the crew, working against heavy flooding and damage, could recover. U-47 was eventually cornered by escorts and sunk do to unrecoverable damage.

They have currently sunk 13K+ tons of shipping NE and N of Scotland, including a Tribal class destroyer.
