If you have mod enabled, they can be the problems.

For correct install of GWX2:

- uninstall SH3 and delete the folder in documents with the carrer saves.
- reinstall SH3, then install only the last patch.
- install GWX2

If you want install another mood, make sure it is compatible with GWX2, and then install after the previus procedure.

You need to have a clean installation (when you unistall be sure to delete the sh3 folder in My documents folder) , make sure you have the right patch there are patches for us versions for european versions etc , the 1.0 to 1.3 message s normal it s a bug
GWX s a great mod , i suggest , if not already done , to download it at Gameshadow fast

I have also had my share of problems of installs and re-installs of SHIII. I now have a workaround that works for me.

I have a clean and patched to 1.4 stock version on my computer. I leave this installation as is.

If I want to create a modded SHIII version I just copy the stock folder and place it on the HDD under another name. You can then mod this copied version as you like. Right now I have stock, GWX I and GWX II version of SHIII installed.

If you manage to foul up a version, you can easily delete it and start a fresh project by just copying the original folder again.

Concerning your inability to patch: you might want to take a look in your registry; problems with reinstallations in my case were caused by still existing SH III registry keys. After deletion everything worked fine.

Thanks for the reply guys

Well i have done what you all suggested clean install got the right patch version ,installed that, got rid of everything before that ,old sh3 files ect.

Then i installed Gwx 2.0, then sh3 commander with the cfg file for it, got all excited after i rebooted after the installs and i ran the sh3 gwx shortcut on my desktop .,

got even more excited when the nice gwx intro loaded and the sh3 intro loaded then the progress bar went all the way then had sh3 has encountered an error sorry for the inconvience lol yeah right i just spent hours freeing up space to install this .

Im absolutely shattered, i had a funny feeling it may come to this i had read so many posts of this happening to others

Please help me out team

Bitterly disapointed

Steffan.

You sure you have correct graphics drivers installed? I read something about it here.

Also try the search button at the Subsim forums....there is a wealth of info to be found here.

You will get it running: it just might take a while....

I'm no expert on these type of issues, but you mention freeing up HD space to install SH3+GWX. If HD space is tight, perhaps virtual memory lies at the heart of your problem?

Greetings Kaleun

Delete the dll file and the SH3 file in C/MyDocs.
Insert your SH3 disc and perform an 'uninstall' from that disc.
Go to the GWX website (available by clicking on my sig) and follow the installation instructions to the letter.

Good Luck

lo mate

after youve exhausted other options...try adjusting your screen resolution.

im wondering this as you say your progress bar goes to the end then you get a error.
seems like sh3 is loading the data ok.... but not initializing. it may be too high a resolution or something else graphical
