DID=dead is dead. If you die in a game career you don't restart it again from your last save.

Makes you think twice about engaging in a duel with any armed vessel, or having a shootout with aircraft (when you could've safely crash dived), or leaving that periscope up too long, or going flank while making an attack run, and, yea you get the point

Ahhh. Okay. I'm DID then. It takes so much away from a game when you start "gaming the game" and hitting restart.
I've always played that way ever since the original Aces of the Deep. Subsim, flight-sim, whatever. I've found that it doesn't matter what kind of game you're playing you get out of a game what you put into it. Cheers -Anti GWX2.0, OLC, SH3 Commander, DID, 98% (can't give up that event camera) |

The more you have invested and at stake in the game the more realistic it becomes.

See i'm the opposite. I play DID from the very beginning then every new thing i get to experience (boats, upgrades, places to go) feels like a great reward that i've earned.
Like my attempt at circumnavigating the world in FSX in a 1930's airliner. The tension during bad weather landings, moments when i'm lost, low of fuel etc. is quite vivid because i've got many many hours into getting to where i'm at and i know if i crash i have to start over. I guess i could do it beforehand in an SR-22 with limited fuel turned off but that would take some of the luster off. To each their own though! My work schedule necesitates staying up late on my weekends, so i get about 4 hours to play games 3 nights a week ![]() |
