btw. if you ever come to Germany visit the "Deutsches Museum". Amongst other fascinatig stuff, above mentioned original U-1 is at display there. You can`t go through the boat like in Laboe where U-995 is diplayed but they`ve cut the starboard side open so you can look into it.

BTW I should visit the "Deutsches Museum" in Munich one day... there you can find the original U 1 cut open.

There's something about WWI U-boats that give me the impression they were more robust in their design

Nice, Laufen.
I once read a book, I think by the captain of the U-2 it was printed in the 1920s and had fantastic photographs, plus the story of the early part of WWI in the Baltic was fascinating
