Ive been working on an accurate(ish) type7 model as part of an entry for the subsim wallpaper/logo contest thingy and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for interesting (and historically accurate) paint schemes i could go with, i dont want to go with just plain grey!
The model is based on the VIIc from SHIII but pretty much everything has been re-made, in fact the only original bits of geometry are the keel,UZO,DF loop and a few bits on the 88mm gun although i may still replace them with my own. All 6500 hull rivets were placed by hand, the model is now around 290000 polys which is still fairly light. Heres a couple of shots of where im at so far, in truth i may not finish in time to enter it in the competition but it`ll be fun to make a few pretty desktops out of it anyway. ![]() More: http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa186/tris1066/b.jpg http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa186/tris1066/c.jpg http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa186/tris1066/d.jpg Wireframe: http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa186/tris1066/wirea.jpg |
