Default [HELP] Aircraft STILL attacking at night

I posted a little tounge-in-cheek thread over on the general forum but here I am serious. Here is the proof:



Here is my mod list:

SILENT SERVICE 1.2c GRAPHICS MOD
1_TMaru_Trigger_Maru_1.7.6
2_TMaru_Sound
3_TMaru_GFX-ROW_Version_5
TMARU_Stock_Gramaphone
ROW NEW SeaFoam from Jaketoox

At first I thought it was RSRD that was causing this phenomenon but I just upgraded to RSRD Phase III and it is still happening. Its gotta be something in the new TM 1.7.6 since I never had this problem in 1.7.5.

Here is my AIRSTRIKE.CFG

Maximum Aircraft Range=1500 ;[>0] in kilometers
Poor Airbase Modifier=0.5 ;[>0] Modifier for poor airbase (carrier) rating
Novice Airbase Modifier=0.7 ;[>0] Modifier for novice airbase (carrier) rating
Competent Airbase Modifier=0.8 ;[>0] Modifier for competent airbase (carrier) rating
Veteran Airbase Modifier=0.9 ;[>0] Modifier for veteran airbase (carrier) rating
Elite Airbase Modifier=1 ;[>0] Modifier for elite airbase (carrier) rating
Night Modifier=0.0 ;[>0] Modifier on strike probability at night
Default Air Strike Probability=20 ;[>0] Default probability to send an airstrike from a airbase (carrier)
Enemy Air Strike Probability Increase on Radio Messages Sent=20 ;[>0] Increase over the default probability on a radio message sent
Friendly Air Strike Probability Increase on Contact Report Sent=70 ;[>0] Increase over the default probability on a contact message sent

As you can see I changed the Night Modifier to 0.0 but still aircraft haunt me at night. From what I have read this is completely Ahistorical in the Pac theater.

Just a wild guess here, but I'm thinking that Strike Modifier only changes the probablility of a strike being launched specifically at you from an airbase or a carrier, not whether a plane that just happens to be flying nearby at night sees you and attacks.

Does the aircraft (if it is properly armed) attack you? If it does, then I believe that we would have to blind the aircraft at night in order to avoid night air attacks. The only other option would be to figure out how to make the engine not allow aircraft flight at night, IMO.

Do any of the super mods give Japanese aircraft radar in later years?
If they do, it might explain why that is happening. I do not run any of
the super mods so I have never seen night attacks. I only remember
playing SH3 that a bright light in the sky lite up my U-Boat like daylight.
I was then attacked by a British aircraft....

or use this, it`s his cfg . it fixed it for me/.

Looks like TM did add radar to at least the H6K, if I'm reading the files correctly.

I've been detecting aircraft at night in my current career since early 1943.

EDIT: Forgot to say I'm running stock 1.4.

Yes me to zeros at night all the time, so i have to submerge...
My installations are SH4 + ROW + RSWD III.

I just started a new campaign in late 1942, and I'm getting constant night fighters. I've got ROW + TM176 + RSRD(pre-III) and a few graphic updates. I can't remember the versions of TM and ROW I had previously, but this has never happened before, only after I installed the newer versions of TM and ROW, and actually using RSRD

Hiya's,
Don't mind manual modding with information given so i followed WernerSobes suggestion

The line that reads "Night Modifier=0.0" i changed to Night Modifier=0.01

So far no night attacks, But maybe just me but a few days later i have a hellofatime with 3 groups of planes coming in around miday lol (was fun though) prolly coincidence and me admiring the scenery

But werners suggestion of a 0.01 value seems to of sorted my pretty constant night attacks

I am also suddenly getting night attacks...My latest additions have been RSRDC part III and just today i added "ROW Improved Night Visibility"...

I never had night attacks before....but then again, I haven't sailed as much as many/most people here.

Seems i spoke or typed too soon

Had a few attacks lastnight, Didn't get to see what types of plane as i dove deep asap

Will try differing values raising the 0.01 upwards
