Default 2000 ton depthcharge

So here I am, right in the middle of a convoy with no escorts around. I fire 1 at a medium target in front of me, a spread of 3 on a ship further away and a spread of 2 from my stern.

I go slow, here a big BOOOOM and the message that my first target is toast.
The seas are heavy, so I lower the scope but stay at periscopedepth, reloading my tubes. My target aft is hit twice and sinks, but my farthest target in front of me has only 1 hit, 2 misses.

I plot a course to intercept, thinking it will at least have slowed down, so 1 more fish should be enough. Then, all hell breaks loose...

Scraping sounds, my depth plummets. I order flank forward and rush damageparties on station. I have no idea what's happening. My depth continues to increase, the loud banging noises don't stop. Suddenly, I hit bottom at 56 meters. Damage goes up and up, dead and wounded are reported. I hit F12 to have a look.

Just for the death-screen I see this:

My first target slid above me, or me underneath it, depending from point of view, than sank :rotfl:

Those boys in the rear torpedo and engine rooms never stood a chance !!!

I can't tell you HOW MANY TIMES this has happened to me. After the 100th time, I've learned to watch the navigation map and steer a wide berth around a ship I just killed before returning to my course.

I once had two ships in one mission (At different times) sink on top of me because Bernard decided to drive under them while they were sinking.

Default Capt. Walker?

You did know, that Cpt. walker was a former tanker captain, didn't you?

Because tankers were too expensive the royal navy later gave him waterbombs...

:rotfl::rotfl:

Sorry for your misfortune, Tobus, but that's just too funny!

:rotfl:Wasser-schiffe!!:rotfl:

Many moons ago, I was trying to evade some very determined destroyers after sinking a few ships in the convoy they were escorting (Must have had relatives aboard those convoy ships as dogged as their pursuit was). I thought I'd be "smart" and settle next to the wreck of this C3 cargo I'd just sunk to hide from the DDs' sonar.

Well, they started depth charging near the C3 which was enough to upset the cargo ship as it was gently resting at an angle on its starboard keel.

Yep, you guessed it. That massive mother rolled right on top of me like an elephant cuddling with a kitten!

My hull popped so fast the crew didn't even have a chance to say "We're taking damage, sir!".

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that mean that, technically, you managed to sink yourself?
