Need some help with graphic modes...

Hey there
I'm new to this forum, well, at least as a poster, as i'm watching it for some time now. I'm also quite new to SH3 modding etc.
My problem is that i would like to improve my SH3 look. I'm talking especially about water, sky, explosions etc. I was looking at the mods list in one of the post, but there is so many of them that checking even half will take me a lifetime
So, can anyone around here be so kind and list some kind of "ultimate" graphic enhancing mods list for me?
Any help will be much appreciated anyway

GWX 2.0 does this and a lot more, check out their Web Site: http://gwx.mysite.orange.co.uk/

As well there have been mods done by Reece and Racerboy, check the threads to see their compatibility with various versions of SH3. Also the search option can be your friend when wanting information, answers to your questions may be in older threads.

Just a few suggestions. Welcome to SUBSIM

Get GWX 2.0
http://gwx.mysite.orange.co.uk/

and then get Torpedo Damage Final from here (This makes it look like you've blown realistic huge holes into ships with your torpedoes and when you hit with the deck gun, it makes realistic looking shell punctures on impact as well. This mod is a MUST HAVE. I'd never leave port without it !!!)
http://hosted.filefront.com/OceanBlue

You also don't want to leave port without Silent Hunter III Commander as well. It's a separate program that is a MUST for using milk cows in game and for enhancing game features.... plus it keeps a really cool war reccord for you. Make sure to download the GWX Silent Hunter III Commander config file from the GWX 2.0 site and copy it into the CFG folder in your Silent Hunter III Commander folder.
http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products.html

That should pretty much set you up there

Thanks guys
The problem with checking old threads etc. is that most of them don't exist anymore (at least the ones i wanted to see) or files can not be found on rapidshare. Most annoying is, however, that realsimulation.com is not working for me
One more questions then: does OLC GUI and freecam modes are working with GWX? Or are they included in it perhaps?

EDIT: Oh, and one more about GWX. Since i'm running polish version of SH3, would that makes any difference for GWX? I know that i will get new and changed stuff in english, but will that makes any problems with GWX installation or SH3 performance after?

Witaj na pok³adzie, Szlezwigu Holsztajnie.

There is a special version of OLC GUI prepared for GWX 2.0, you'll find it here:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=124639
(first post).

I have no idea about "freecam modes", as I don't use freecam.

Polish version of GWX should work well with GWX, but after installing GWX you'll loose possibility of playing in Polish. You'll be still able to select between German and English (and Frech IIRC). I'd suggest to run "English text", "German voice", unless you speak German and you're able to run the game entirely in German.

Which edition of SH3 do you have? If it's "Kolekcja Klasyki", I'd have some tips of getting rid of the initial screen with the loud Piotr Fronczewski's voice.
