Default Basic Stuff That New Kaleuns Need To Know

Hey guys,

I am in the middle of a really crappy patrol...I have two torpedoes left and only 4800 tons sunk. This patrol is just going CRAPPY!

However, it got me to thinking. I am new to this game and do not have much advice to offer about patrols, and I was wondering if some of the more experienced players could lay down some rules/guidelines that they use when patrolling and tips that they use to navigate/move the 'boot? What are some things that you guys do on almost every patrol that a new guy like me would probably not know about?

The first thing that I can think of is the snorkel....I had no idea there was one until I printed off the QRC. To raise/lower the snorkel, press X. It can allow you to reduce your C02 emissions...but you need to be near the surface!

Any help is appreciated.
