Bdu Map Contacts
I think I'm going to be disappointed with this but thought I'd ask just in case.
When I'm in time compression and I make contact with a ship or plane the tc drops to 1. However when a location symbol for a ship is placed on the nav map tc, continues at whatever speed is set. Is there a mod or anyway I can change this, so the tc drops to 1 under those circumstances?? Thank you for any help.

:hmm: I think you are refering to Radio Contacts.
I think this depends on the distance of the contact. If it's within a certain radius of the player boat, the TC should drop to 8 If it's outside of the defined radius, the TC should remain at the set level. I think SH3 Commnader can change the first option. However, the second is unchangeable.

OK thanks guys. Between posting and now I noticed it slowed to 2 when the contact was within a certain distance, maybe up to about 30 km.
I was hoping to find a mod to get a radio message with those. What I HAVE done is used Commander to change the tc to be slowed to 1 with those and set the sound effects to only operate at 1 as well. So hopefully when they appear the effects will come on with the tc slowing, to get my attention if I'm reading or whatever. I don't know if things would change in a IX boat but I'm presently in a VII so I suppose those further away contacts don't matter much just now. Thanks again, Gavin.

That depends on where those far awy contacts are heading...
If they sort of intercept your course at some point it's worth keeping an eye out at the approximate time you're set to intercept, maybe have a quick dive and listen, who knows what you might find... ![]() I've bagged myself 2 King George V Battelships by doing exactly that, which is an extreme example but you shouldn't let tonnage get away from you, ever, at all, even if it's only two medium ships, always better to take those out than to take your chances with a bunch of hyped-on-coffee convoy escorts |
