Default A strange order!!

Hi friends,I got a problem with sending "contact report".Yesterday I spotted a small convoy(1escort and 4 merchants). Then I thought I should tell that to the subcommand center,so i pressed the "send contact report" button, then a new mission received. It said the convoy was an important target, because the large transport carried soilders who would be sended to some island, you must sink the large transport!

I sunk the escort first, and then I found there is't a large transport at all, only a small passenger line.Although I sunk all the ships but the mission "sink large transport" have not completed.

I think the staffs in subcommand center should make some mistakes, maybe they stay in the office too long,so their brains get some problem,or the mission they sended to me is someone else's.Fortunately I run into a large transport later, when i sunk it,the mission completed!

Dose anyone has the same problem with me?

ComSubPac ordered you to sink the large transport. You did not sink it. Therefore, you fail.

I don't want to hear you say that there was no large transport. Command knows better than you what is in that convoy.

Seriously, I have no idea. Things like this just seem to happen from time to time in the game.

You can reap good renown rewards for calling it in first.

Ive never seen it call to sink a ship that was not a part of the convoy thuogh :hmm:

Possibly a mod conflict.

I still haven't figured out the dynamic campaign stuff (which is what gets called upon when such new orders come up).

If you are using a modded campaign, this might be part of the problem, or it could be as simple as they meant to include an explicit large transport in the stock campaign, and instead they used a "generic" one in the mission files.

Heard about that.... red it somewhere.

I never get to see the end of a patrol... euhm...Leme rephrase that... haven't gotten close of finishing a patrol to see what renown I get as I always seem to be on patrol when new good Mod's come out which I think are "must haves" and want in game.. Can't wait to get back to base so I stop my career right there by going head on at a DD or bigger (surfaced) gun's blazing...

Side note: I see two 50Cal's at sonar stations right behind the sonar operator... like to be able to mount them , ammo's laying there as well not secured btw. (bad sailor who didn't secure them).

These are changing times for SHIV and I want to test and apply good Mod's. It's silly to kill a career like that but ey...

Waiting for the lightning Mod and environmental Mod then will apply this in my tac's though.

Cheers

Sounds like your radioman or watch crew reported a large transport that wasn't there. Or they were psychic and knew that you would stumble up on one eventually:p Maybe one of your crew has found the Captain's refreshment/special/liquid?

The problem is that the tonnage requirement is too high for the mission. I gather the only troop transport in the convoy was the Small Passenger Carrier, which has a tonnage value less than that needed to complete the mission. Open up ContactReport 12.mis (in the Campaigns folder) and change Tonnage=3500 to something like 1500.

When I sunk the small convoy,I send a status report, but nothing happened. The mission is still there. As I said,i run into a Huge European transport,i sunk it and the mission completed.

I use TM1.5 Mod.Maybe my watchman make a mistake or the radioman drunked, fortunately the Huge European transports are all over the map,you will run into them sooner or later!
