Default Let no-one disparage the Luftwaffe

On my most recent career it is now April 1940. As it happens my patrol started a few days after the invasion of Norway and the North Sea is alive with dangerous enemy naval elements such as carrier taskforces, random destroyers and fishing trawlers.

I missed a fast Illustrious class carrier because I was about 5 miles outside her screen and was kicking myself at the lost opportunity when Lo and Behold I picked up an independant merchie at slow speed. Set up my intercept but it turned out to be a Norwegian trawler. Not exactly worth a torpedo. I surfaced but the weather had turned nasty so I souldn't man the guns.

Luckily for the Reich however the Luftwaffe appeared on the scene and pulverised the water on either side of the trawler. I'm glad I wasn't that water I can tell you!!
Them flyboys are proper heroes

Those fluffy booted flyboys are the bane of my life. Stealing my hard earned renown from me. I had torpedoed the Illustrious and whilst I was relaoding and waiting for the "She's going down" message, along come's Hermann's Whoremongers to bobm the crap out of it and give it the coup de grace! No renown no tonnage all because they go lucky enough to have the final hit!

I'll always disparage them!

the luftwaffe are bastards.

when you need them while under attack they say "go to hell. we dont waste bombs FOR YOU"
and when you sneak in a brittish harbour, see great tonnage and JUST open your tubes... guess who's there stealing the tonnage

Normally I wouldn't stand up for the flyboys but they did save my hide in Norway. Had just finished off most of the allied invasion fleet transports, the crusier escort was beached and on fire but the destroyers nailed me in shallow water. The depth charges caused flooding and we sank to the bottom. The destoyers must have thought we were done for and they stopped right above us. Anyway I was afraid of letting the damage control guys work and giving us away when I hear explosions and AA fire. The Luftwaffe had appeared and was bombing the hell out of the two destroyers, so I put the damage control into action and crept away while those two destroyers went to the bottom. Those flyboys can keep all the renown they want for those two. Now I always buy them beers when I see a Luftwaffe uniform.

When in-game the sub is the poor relation whenever a joint venture is undertaken in sinking a boat......the flyboy is credited the kill because he is the fastest, the game must assign the renown before the aggressor leaves the rendering area
