not sure if its popular or not but I dident see any posts about it.
Im talking about where you run pararell (yeah I know I spelt that wrong Im tired) to a ship and then use your TDC to launch a torp that turns right away and has perfect angle on the ship. I use it in horrible weather conditions on close sound contacts and when im too close to a ship I wish to target. I know its not tradition but its fun. Yeah i sometimes use this method, usually in storms, or when i can "predict" the ship's speed. When i do it i usually set the fish for a Impact hit and a shallow run. if its not stormy

I actually do it allot in convoy attacks early in the war.
I put the sub into the meaty part of the convoy, and cruise right down in between the rows of oilers and if im lucky major surface combatants. Probably not the most historic way to play, but its very very effective as you get maximun exposure to the convoy heavies. Especially if you have a crew that can sling torps into the tubes fast. You can rip the heart out of a convoy in one pass. Its also nice if your doing keel shots as the angle doesnt affect it as much as it would a side shot. |

I use i a lot early in the war. Late in the war is dangerous because you have a big aspect to the enemy escorts.
Parallel course to target and sharing almost the same speed gives you easily the AOB. AOB=180-bearing to target (from scope not in relation to the north). .

I don't use it very often. Only when the opportunity presents itself.
