Default no subject, part 1

hello everyone,
posting some of the picutes i took today, of "big mamie", the lionfish, and dd joseph p kennedy jr.
i just started going hog wild with the camera, and i had taken so many pics that they started to overwrite
previously taken pics, i lost some real nice pics of the sub interior. sh4 devs did a fabulous job in the recreation
of the helm, thats how i recognized where i was, when i walked into it, it looks just like the sh4 helm.
in the conning tower, which all i could do was climb up the ladder to view it because they put plexi glass to prevent people from getting into the tower,
there was continous pinging of sonar. if you closed your eyes for a moment, you could imagined the sub being hunted and pinged for by japanese dd's,
it was awesome to hear. i lost pics of the scopes, and other equipment in most of the submarine, when i go back, i just have to concentrate of one ship at a time.
ill tell ya, i was mighty impressed with the battleship, i have to go back soon, as it was so large i just couldnt see everything i wanted to see on her.
it was so hot today, and inside the ships it was hotter, i was soaked in perspiration, but i thought, well this would probably be normal, when the ships were operational.
i read in the boiler room of big mamie, that the temp would reach 125 degrees, and the men who worked there could not use the hand railings of the steel ladders,
but had to slide down the railings with cloth around thier hands. since ive been home, all im doing is drinking gatorade and eating ice cream to no effect on my thirst.
the subs deck gun magazines look like thier on the deck, not inside, about 20 feet from the stern gun. on a calm sea, or light sea state, i saw no problem with the
gun firing as well as any land artillery piece.
both the bb and submarine had the smell of diesel fuel in the engine rooms, and forward and rear torpedo rooms, i have nothing but admiration for the men who manned those ships, during the war.
i lost many pics of the bb interiors too, sick bay, cic, opearating room, dentist office, fire direction for the main guns, and 5 inchers, just too bad.
anyway, i hope you enjoy them, i also took pics of mainly japanese and island peoples artifacts, and even saw 3 japanese tourists on the bb, i wonder what they were thinking?
