This is the story:
November 1940, SW of Ireland, nice weather conditions and a lot of enthusiasm. Last night I found a juicy convoy, escorted by 2 destroyers and 1 sub. The destroyers were not going to be a proble,m but the sub was going to be a PITA for my intentions. Since I was short of torps, the weather was excellent and I wanted to wipe out the entire convoy, I decided to use up to the last round of ammo I had in my sub. I took the escorts out, they didn't know what hit them, leaving the rest of the convoy at my mercy, except for that sub. Fired all my torps and 6 ships were still trying to run away. I surfaced and startedto engage the ships with my deck gun, sinking all of them, except for the sub... did I mention there was a sub? :rotfl: I decided then to roll the dices and take my chances, and started firing at the sub. After many shots fired at less than 500 m, I get the message "Enemy unit destroyed". Took a look at the sub and it was leaking oil from many places and had many impact marks all over. I confirmed it was sunk by checking my log book, and it said indeed I sunk the sub. Well, of course, I said "job well done" and resumed my way back to Kiel. But, oh! Surprise..... after a couple of hours, a red sub icon starts moving from all the sunk ships icons on the map where the carnage took place. ![]() ![]() ![]() Oh no, that's unfair..... ![]() ![]() ![]() CapZap
