Default Favorite US Navy WW2 Submarine Pics

I'm sure we've done a thread like this before, but I just wanted an excuse to post this photo. I love it!

Dean,
You just have to remember that the conning tower hatch is closed, the A/C is off, and you're in the highest part of the boat. Do you like to sweat? And you only get a shower once a week...........

Default My favorite picture is of course:

Most of the Army Air Force, including my dad, on the deck of Tigrone putting in to Iwo:

Lifeguard duty perhaps? Notice that most of the guys in the front row seem to be wearing sandals. What's that about?

Yeah, there used to be a sticky thread with hundreds of photos. Where did it go?

Great shots, by the way...both of them.

Amazing...apparently in the heat of action, either training or real, and they STILL have their ties on.

Not a submarine, but this picture of George Grider and Roger Paine on R&R in Hawaii is fantastic. A world apart from their experences in the cramped Wahoo.
