Default I went to Dover

It was a slaughter. I don't think it's too realistic though. I mean, U-Boat Captains would dare entering an enemy docks, i think... I sunk a troop carrier and a light cruiser which was just docked there. I did it in two seperate days: Cloudy weather, night, clam sea: I was in and out undetected. Too easy. Sunk the troop carrier. A day later: Sunny, calm weather and nice visibility: Was detected by some patrol craft who must have radioed 2 destroyers. The two destroyers were unable to reach me because they tend to navigate in straight lines and both crushed in the docks structure and eventually burned. Sunk a light Cruiser. Is this considered lame? I mean, why one should hunt for tonnage in the ocean? Please comment. Oh, i'm playing at 100% realism, altough i use auto map update due to plotting being too much time consuming.

Harbors are good hunting grounds and quite easy but now I stay out of them just to keep it as real as possible with my recent campaign. To be honest I shake my pants all the time and that gives a lot of fun!

Although it's annoying when you fire 4 tubes at a docked ship and none of it works, don't know if it's to shallow for the game or something...

IS this vanilla or GWX?
You may get lucky once, maybe twice. In the end, shallow water will kill you.

I don't raid harbours because the SH3 bugs (like destroyers running into piers) make it way too easy and also because except the raid of Prien in Scapa Flow it was not done historically.
On the other side, there were missions for U boats to lay mines in and around harbours which are not taken into account in SH3...

I have 2 different careers going. One where I follow BDU's orders and the other who is a maverick and does what he wants, ie: raiding harbors.

Its GWX and 1940. Don't get me wrong, the second try costed me dectection and a failed dc attack. Them the destroyers crashed in the structure as it was turning around. I wish there was a way to fix it but. When i went there i was under the impression slow speed and silent running granted me "invisibility". Not
