Default Murphy's War Tune

Had a devil of a time finding this but it's the old Al Bowlly tune from around 1932 or so....from Murphy's War, where it's the only record he has and he listens to it over and over while working on the plane and in the closing credits I think. I'm new at this..never uploaded a file before...I hope it isnt illegal..if it is I apologize..but who wants to listen to crap like this nowadays except us?..LOL http://http://files.filefront.com/21.../fileinfo.html

Yeah, that tune occasionally gets played on Radio 2 in the UK on some of the 'old git' type programmes. 'My hat's on the side of my head' is the title as far as I recall isn't it?

OMG... I didn't mean to bump this thread from the dead as it were... and as it nears it's year's anniversary (Happy birthday dear thread!)... I just HAD to say it... you're not wrong jimbuna mon ami. I've been searching for this rarity for ages and ages... DANKE LORD KITCHENER!!!!

This is going straight onto my SHIII/SHIV gramophones (including my ipod ). Pure class. Every sub needs Al Bowlly, especially this classic. THANK YOU LORD!

PS: You probably already know, but for those reading who might not; she was a modded 1943 Balao class sub in the film... USS Tilefish (SS-307), or actually then the ARV Carite (S-11) under ownership of the Venezuelan Navy. Hmm I wonder who sold her to them, and for how much? :hmm: Heh, well anyway.. she saw action in WWII & Korea and had quite an interesting life before being cannibalized for spare parts in 1977. Sad.

I agree, she had a cool paint job for sure, and to my eyes had a really crazy look about her with that cigarette deck stuck on to make it look somewhat U-Boat-ish. Nice mod job though, whoever did it (maybe you're here on Subsim, reading this?)

Good hunting (and happy listening)!
