Default Been away, a short update please

Hello,

In short: I don't have the game because in 2005 I desided to wait until all the critical bugs were eliminated and the "must have" pathes were available.

So what is the current status? Is the game "ready"?

Best Regards,
Lorient

SH3 has had a last Patch released - 1.4b.

SH3 + 1.4b = Still buggy. (but better)

Now supermods.......

Top of the list at the moment is GWX. The Grey Wolves Expansion is a standalone addition to SH3 + 1.4b and vastly improves the base game. GWX has added graphics, sounds & realism. This mod is by far the most encompassing mod available, if it could be fixed/improved/corrected then it has been.

NYGM (current version 2.4, I think) aimed at reproducing realism.

WAC - War Ace Campaign, don't know too much about this one. A mixture of graphics, sounds and realism.

Without covering old ground too much, there are sticky threads in the MODS section for all supermods.

Welcome Back

One thing you should ask yourself is which you like more, the Atlantic battle or the Pacific? As Silent Hunter 4 is coming very soon.

Thanks guys for the quick replies!

I definately want to sail in the Atlantic, so SH III suits me fine.

I find SH3 with 1.4 patch + GWX very satisfactory (only a few minor bugs) and hassle free. There is a new GWX patch that just came out.

Welcome back!
