You put them in the damage control compartment, you then click on the yellow areas (which are the damaged areas) and you should see a little ratchet symbol. That means that they are repairing the damage.

Hope this helps

Make sure you got some crew in damage control click on the compartment that's highlighted "yellow" and then the crew will start to repair that compartment.

Also make sure you have silent running turned off otherwise they will sit on their hands until you tell them they can make noise repairing stuff.

Sailors in the compartment will start fixing damage except for in the two crew bunk compartments. Make sure you get an officer with Damage control as early as possible then put him in charge of the repair operation with as many men as it takes to get the best green bar at the top of the damage control box.

Always go for the compartment which is shipping water fastest or that will fill with water before you can deal with the other damage.

Pray!

That's right mate!

If things look bad, put the LI in the repair team. He -if good, will make Scotty look small!

Before going on patrol or as soon as possible, I recommend getting an officer and a petty officer with machanic's qualification. A strong damage control team may save you from catastrophy .

Not sure yet if this works with the new patch ( 1.02 GWX ), but it adds a realism ( and difficult ) element to the game.

Longer Repair Times by drifter.
