Default The misfourtune of dead crew

Got the dual 20m Flak upgrade and of course got brave and decided to battle it out with single and sometimes dual Hurricaine attacks. While the current patrol is going good (I'll post a few thumbs/screens later) including 5 aircraft down, one of the bombers scored a close hit Im at 85% hull and killed one of my gunners.

So how do you properly deal with dead crew? In-game option to bury the dead but what happens then, is this a burial at sea how does it affect renown etc. Do you hang onto the corpse untill your near homeport or just let Sh3commander deal with it. While that might sound cold, it's just a game so my question is basicaly about the game mechanics.

On the other hand I can't help but wonder how IRL Kaleuns - Crews dealt with the dead. I mean where the boat was patrol and the circumstances had to affect what they did with corpses. Not like they had extra storage. So Im thinking a traditional burial at sea time providing.

Burial at sea was the norm when on patrol...Like you said, no space to store the body, besides, would you want to spend four weeks with a body on board?

There was a discussion on that question some time ago. In real life you would burry them at sea but if you do it SH3 won't ist the sailor as KIA. Only if you keep him aboard till your patrol is over he is shown as KIA, otherwise he never existed.

Indeed, but does it cost renown when you decide to bring the body home?

Otherwise, there's no use in not shoving them overboard.

If you bury him at sea, he will be listed as KIA when you return, but not on your permanent record. I doesn't affect renown

Or, shift+ double click to have the cook cut him up in 24 easily storable in the aft toilet pieces/servings.

You can hang them in the CR pipes too (ctrl+ left click). The good thing is that hanging tenderizes the meat and makes meat pies richer. On the other hand though, you lose nutriecent juices through evaporation...

PS: Can we have a mod for this plz?....:rotfl:
