greetings!
Guten Tag, meine Herren!
Now that I finally registered as the 1489th newbie on this great forum, I thought I should briefly introduce myself! ![]() I'm quite new to 'hardcore' sims like SH3 (played mainly ww2 FPS), so forgive me if I ask questions that are already posted somewhere (thorough searches solved a lot of problems already). I bought SH3 over a year ago, but never really came further than the quick mission / academy. Was a bit shocked back then: never had a game that demands so much learning/work and patience to be able to play... As a result, the disc vanished in the darkness of the cellar. But, like so many of you, I watched the amazing "Das Boot" DVD, remembered the game - and found myself totally addicted! The tutorials + stickies in this forum made it a lot easier to start - thanks to all authors for that great work! Right after the install, i stumbled upon the GWX Mod, dl and installed it.. that leads me to my first question: Is it possible to play 'stock' SH3 with a mod installed? Not that I'd go back to vanilla-SH3 (started with GWX right away), but I wonder if it would be much easier to get some tonnage in the career campaign, or to learn basic nav and manual targeting? Is there less 'traffic' in GWX than in the stock version? I still have set the game to a quite low realism (all off except sensors, fuel, O2, batteries), i think around 20% ![]() I remembered ![]() with SH3 commander and its additional options - are they saved in the config file, or do i have to launch the game everytime via SH3c? argh!
