Hey there,
First time trying to sneak up on a convoy and I keep getting spotted by destroyers and corvettes... I tried to sneak up on them while submerged but they were to fast and kept pulling away. So I shadowed them until night fall and then tried to approach closer while surfaced but I keep getting spotted. Didn't even get within 5000m of them...(planes are also on top of me...) I've also been trying to get behind the convoy and sneak up on the last merchant, still no success. Please give me pointers on how to do this without getting blown out of the water... Thanks. |

very briefly:
when dealing with a convoy, identify their general course and speed. take yourself well out of visual range, surface, flank speed way ahead of them to a point that will put you directly in their path. Be sure and submerge a few times to take hydrophone readings and make appropriate course corrections/markings. Also try to time your attack with evening so as to allow you to creep up reeeeaaaal close with periscope. Stay away from daytime attacks or in shallow areas (less than 120m under keel) Check out Brag's site for more tips/advice good Luck

My strategy is a little different, but this is what I do, and it works
![]() When you first get word of a convoy by radio, go way in front of it's course(while surfaced). When you believe you are right in their path, go to silent running and completely stop(periscope depth). Then you let the convoy come to you:p When the ships are rolling past you, raise ur periscope and fire away ![]() This strategy worked for me last night, as I sank 5 ships out of a convoy. It's always better to be too far ahead of the convoy, because then you can just stop and let them come to you. |
