Default E-room: your GWX crew management friend

It helps to read instructions. In GWX you can put your overflow of men into the Electric motor room and they lose health very, very slowly while you are running on diesels. (They don't, however, revive, but that's okay.) Unfortunately, the reverse isn't true. If you're submerged and put men in the diesel room they lose health kinda fast.

Nevertheless, this helps in crew management (especially in 1x TC) because you can revive others while members in the E-room are on "ice". Nice!

I read that also. I wonder if the good Dr is present in the room if that helps also:hmm:

Hm, darn good question. I would say no since having a Dr. in any of the other compartments doesn't matter re: fatigue or wounded sailors. He seems to only operate (heh) in bow or stern quarters. :hmm:

Interesting, but with the exception of the IXB, I always carry only enough crew that will have a bunk when not on duty

Not a bad idea. I've thought about doing the same myself but didn't know how it would affect the control and maintenance of the boat.

One question: Why the exception for the IXB?

When adding crew in barracks the matrossen line showed in red and I didn't want to sacrifice petty officers. So I now carry two extra bods who can't rest when submerged. With a seasoned crew this is not too much of a problem.
