Default The short but distinguished career of Oberleutnant z. s. Walter Pasche (with pics)

As Lt.Pache left Lorient a near collision with another ship was a poor omen for what was to become his last patrol.

On his 3rd Patrol Lt. Pache destroyed entire convoy of tankers onroute to the United States from South America. The Shell company will not be pleased (love that attention to detail btw!).

It's not looking good for this lone tanker.

Down she goes.

The British won't be using this pier again until they clear the mess up.

A Black Swan class dropped a depth charge which exploded in contact with hull. At a depth of 150m, the U-505 broke up almost immediately with the loss of all hands.

Ouch...

A direct hit from a DC at 150m is really...bad...
Too bad SH3 is unrealistic at this point again. DCs dont explode by contact, only by pressure. Would be nice to hear a DC hit the deck of the sub...

Nice pix. Try clicking on the Del key on the Num Lock pad to get rid of the instruments in the pic.

There's nothing unrealistic about it. That can, and will, happen by extreme bad luck if the depth setting of the fuze is set for the depth you're running and the ashcan just happens to touch at the moment it reaches the right depth.

Yep, this is what happened. I was watching the event on the external camera at the time. The DD came straight in over the top of me running from stern to bow. The DCs were impossible to avoid. The first exploded just above the stern with such force that it blasted the entire sub downwards. The next DC was set to explode a little deeper and this happened to be set to exactly the depth my sub was forced to with the previous DC. This was on the deck just behind the conning tower. One second later, black screen of death.

Of course, but in SH3 they dont explode only by pressure, but by impact too...

DCs dont explode because of impact, thats all Ive said...
