Default Best tonnage/ammo ratio yet

Today I come across one of these tramp steamers around 2400 tons.
It's night and calm weather, so I order to man the deck gun. When I am about 1500m I order to aim for the waterline.
First shot is off as often, the two next ones hit... My navigator says she's going down
Have a look with the binos, she breaks in two in the middle and sinks. Saw no big explosion, just the two halves sinking.
Who said the NYGM damage model needed hours of flooding ?
Anyway double schnaps for the gunners.

an 88 is a pretty big gun right? it could pierce several inches of armor, so i assume it could probably pierce a small ship's hull pretty easily. Im not sure, anyone have any opinions on this or historical facts about how many shots it took to pierce a ship?

I took out a pyro not along ago with 2x105 mm HE rounds. Must have hit her ammo bunker.

Until now the average for this kind of ship was more in the 20 rounds... And as it didn't explode, wonder what it was carrying ?

Concentrated hydrochloric acid? Maybe your shot broke the containers, and that ate the hull from the inside.

I suspect small freighters have a weak spot just forward of the bridge. See the thread and pic on aiming

I'm sure he meant the cargo area where the ammo and the explosives are kept
