Believe it or not because i have the choppy wave set to 0 the sub crew never went under . I travelled in a circle to get the waves from diffrent angles . This is still an ongoing project .

The only problem with waves so big is that some of the smaller ships don't stand a chance... i.e flowers, tugs, fishing boats, and even some of the DDs.

issue a small craft advisory...tell them to stick to the bay and inland waters.

Like he said. The smaller vessels sink in big waves. That´s why there isnt "Hurricane weather!!!111" mods out there.

Nice. It looks like an image from the Sydney to Hobart during the Tasman Sea crossing.

I changed this also and exprimented a bit whit some values.
It was a bit much to increase waveheigth to 512 so i choosed 448 instead.

In real bad weather the waves was a bit unrealistic. But whit 448 the waves was greate (In my opinion)
The sub didnt go under water a single time and it really looked like it "ride" the waves. It looked more dramatic in bad weather and much better than the stock.

Important was also to set choppy waves to zero.

The seaspeed was also a bit to slow for my liking. I sat the value to 0.032.

To high value here and the waves comes to fast and your sub will go submerged.

Whit to low value i noticed that if i have torped a ship and it was at 0 speed the waves took "ages" to roll of the ship when they washed over it. So it was a bit unrealistic there also.

But iam darn happy now whit the tweaks and big thanks Sober for sharing it.

Now i really enjoy riding in a storm and i can almost sence i will meet Thomsen.

Thoomsen,, ITS THOOOOOMMMSSSEEEN. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Here in Newfoundland we often see pictures of offshore supply vessels riding 30-40 ft waves, very impressive weather.

For NYGM 2.2/3 users

Make the sea speed = 0.025
Choppy wave = 0
Sea Foam animation speed = 2
Wave state 1 thru to 4 , Make the X = 7 and Y = 7

Default SH2

The waves look like those in SH2 when the wind is set to 18. Only in sh2 if you were heading into those waves you would almost grind to a halt, like 2 knots and burning fuel like crazy. In SH3 i never notice much slowing due to on coming waves.

I'll try out these new waves...

If you make a mistake with the mini tweaker in SCENE_DAT then just go to your silent hunter/ data folder and delete the SCENE_DAT file and rename COPY OF SCENE_DAT to just SCENE_DAT and you will have it back to before you stuffed it .
