IIRC, the 1.4b Patch for SH3 has not been installed. This is a VISTA quirk.

The Vista sticky on the main SH3 Board should contain the answers you need.

Paused too long to think.

That and remembering to get the 64 bit version of the starforce drivers should steer you clear.
Thanks, 'Run As' did the trick :hmm: Why didn't I think of this myself

IIRC starforce drivers are not used with the digital edition...

Now I can do a batch test of S3D on all GWX files too

If you use SH3Commander you can turn off fatigue. Thats the simplest way. It also lets you playaround with two or three other models.

Nope
SH3commander is a stand alone mod
Will run alongside GWX
No need to uninstall

Be in port before running first time
Dont forget the extra cfgs for SH3commander below my sig
These are for use with GWX only

Default Question on SHIII Commander and GWX

I have been playing with the GWX mod for a few weeks now and have to say its brilliant...

I just completed my 4th patrol, and have sunk 7 ships. On my last patrol I was north of Ireland, on the surface at night in overcast weather with high seas. I ran smack into a british task force and what with the low range visibility I could just see an escorting destroyer several kilometres away (he had not spotted me as yet). I quickly crash dived and brought my bow to right angles with the task force travelling south. I then realised the force included the battleships Nelson and Rodney, I fired off all four tubes and then went to 50m. A destroyer by this time was veering off and making towards my position.

Two torps exploded prematurely (those damn electrics) and the other two steamers continued on, what with the convoy now zig-zagging i thought my chances of a hit had gone - but low and behold I made two hits near the stern on the Rodney. After about 10 mins she went dead in the water (engines stopped). That one pesky destroyer kept my head down for quite some time, but given the rough weather he was dropping DC's in the wrong area. Eventually he moved off to join the rest of the TF that had long since moved on (protecting Nelson).

I went to periscope depth, saw that Rodney was down at the stern a little (deck awash) so I fired off another 3 torps to finish her well and truly. She blew up and sank quickly. That was my only sinking of the 4th patrol - and I only got a Iron Cross II class for sinking a battleship??? what is the go here - is there not a points system that should get you a ritterkreutz for sinking a battleship? - Is prein's sinking of the royal oak any more worthy than my victory? hehe

That aside I think it is brilliant what you guys have done with GWX.

Also a question about SHIII Commander - I read that it is another mod to work alongside GWX... What does it inlcude or for that matter what does it make better? and where can I get it? How many files do I need to download...?

Thanks again!

Default AI U-Boats...

With regards to AI U-Boats, I read that they cannot submerge. So does this mean when I attack a convoy that I will be the only sub there. So SHIII cannont model wolf packs?

I was just thinking it would be nice for a change to radio in more boats and see ships getting torpedoed by other u-boats.

GWX models surface attacking wolfpacks only. The boats will probably have been killed beween the time that the convoy renders and when you are about to hit the convoy but this can be dependant on whether or not the escorts are able to knock them out before you reach the convoy.

In some circumstances they may not do so and you may be able to get close whilst they are still attacking.

Unfortunately SHIII does not allow AI subs to submerge if starting on the surface or surface if starting submerged so once they attack they are committed to their course of action and cannot change their depth.

In GWX, with External Camera On, shouldn't difficulty still read 100%?

No. There has always been a "realism" penalty for using it.
