MiTon has the right approach, firstly he asks me, and second, this mod should be developed seperately, as is, so everyone can use new functionalitity such as what he suggests. A TDW UI specific version can be made, with enhancements specifically supported by your mod(s) no problem. But I still don't want the mod integrated (yet anyway). It should be an add-on, delivered from this thread, or a thread by MiTon or KarlKoch.

MiTon, I have already done that stuff in the next (unstable, unreleased) version of the mod. Just ask KarlKoch. The settings can be changed in the normal Menu > Settings > Audio page (selecting language, turn on/off, set confidence), but it was a tad buggy and so is not releasable as of yet. Not all of it is done in python though, I did some core stuff in .NET. Settings are saved to .ini file under My Documents (next to the other game ini's). I also added an icon indicating speech is recognized, and pushed messages to the message log (confirming certain orders).
So I think it's better to try to improve on that, than doing it from scratch. Plus, I think these settings belong there (in the audio page), instead of in the hud. I may try to help if I have time.

I have to rectify this, so hopefully this missunderstanding is cleared!
I first asked TDW if it would possible to integrate the UI I made, or make a new one for his mod, to control the new SpeechRecSettings. He said, that you didn't want to have SpeechRecognition integrated and I should ask you first! I did and came back here to ask for help for my UI version for the stockgame (forgot to mention stock) All friends again?? Quote:

Hi Captain Can! "los" is done!! you'll be able to use these phrases to fire a torpedo:
Torpedo settings like "set target range" are fixed too. Hotfix will be released after some more testing, probably on 10.04.2011! As RL kicked in, I won't have too much time for Speech Recognition, so the "non hotfix" release will be delayed a little. Sorry! regards MiTon

Speech Recognition for SH5 - v1.4 - MiTon's Edition - v0.3 - english
Hi everybody!
Version 0.3 released!!! Now with 326 commands and 6290 phrases! ( NewUI Edition ) I dropped the UI for this version, but the Speech Recognition can be "muted" and "unmuted" via voice now! Also the "decksAwashDepth" now can be set in the Speech Recognition.py. Default is 7.5 meters. To change it, search for: Code:
decksAwashDepthToSet = 7.5 Here the changelog: v1.4_MiTon's NewUI Edition – v0.3 - 11.04.2011
Note for Stock Edition: Some commands from NewUI Edition still exist (Toggle Enhanced RM for example). There is a possibility that they'll work with other UIs too, but it's a smal one and I didn't test it. So be warned!! If you encounter problems with these, plz let me know! Have fun! MiTon

I've recently installed this mod, and I am having trouble with the " set course " command for courses starting by 2, like 285 for example, very often it only takes 085 as a command.
I was wondering, could it be a problem with the recognition of 2 and to ? Or maybe a conflict with the "set course to" command ? Maybe it's just my accent, but I thought I should give a try here Maybe I'm saying the command too fast/slow. Any advice welcome, thanks. Subsidiary question, does it help to "train" the win7 speech recognition ? |

Haha, that can do the trick as well. But the more I think of it, the more I think it's an issue with the accent, I don't think I'm makin enough difference when saying to and two. I'll try more ways to say it

I had a look at the corresponding files, they are ok, but the SpeechRecognition in general has troubles with some words for sure! You should train the windows 7 speech recognition as SHSpeech Recognition depends on it! You should also try SHSpeechEngineTest.exe any see if you can improve the recognition with the changing the confidence level. Regarding the confidence level have a look at the readme and this post: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...&postcount=270 regards MiTon |
