Default Same fixes

Well I guess that puts to rest the notion they were fixing more stuff. That is obviously the same sparse list of fixes we saw long ago.

To be fair, while we're been waiting for this second required (and oft promised) patch Ubisoft has released Splinter Cell Conviction and patched it twice, released Settler's 7 and patched it four times, patched Assassin's Creed 2 and announced a sequel to both HAWX and AC 2... sooo... yeah.

It's actually quite a bit shorter...

Maybe just reworded.

Here's the missing stuff from the original patch notes back in late March:

Quote:
•Shadow optimizations
•Fixed very slow eye light adaptation after a lost device (alt-tab)
•Crewmen on deck change clothes during bad weather
Then all the "Sorry you've waited three weeks, but wait one more and you also get this!" stuff is missing too:

Quote:
•SH4 ships can now be imported (useful for modders).
•Improvements in the reward system for U-boats in the dynamic campaign
•Improvements to the AI
•Changes to accommodate RU localization will therefore be present in patch 1.2, but will not affect players in a visible form.
Three weeks after the "wait one more week" (a month late from the originally promised release date) we're finally told it'll just be one more week and here's the new stuff we get (minus the old stuff listed above that's apparently been missed/removed/broke/whatever):

Quote:
- All multiplayer maps will display the same map info as the map on the solo campaign

Can really only mean one thing:
Silent Hunter 5 is not their priority (anymore)...
I've said it before, as others have, this does not bode well for further support ie patches etc.
I think this may well be the last we'll see of patches and further support.
The orig. list has been shortened, a case of them saying: "hey, we're onto more important and popular projects, but we better get something out, since we communicated that a while back".
I've always been optimistic about this game and it's future...
I just hope i'm wrong.

I think you are probably right. Assuming that sales were not what they expected , they've probably decided to concentrate on other more popular games.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Was Silent Hunter ever a priority with Ubi? I remember every single patch, for every single SH game, being a struggle to get them to release. No one cares about the SH buyers, we're the freak gamers.

And about them patching and releasing other games in the mean time, the devs doing SH5 and its patches aren't really the same who patch those other games...so that's not an excuse, that they've been busy patching other games.

Personally I've had it with this game, and the devs. Too bad.

It's called business...
One thing i've pondered over though is, surely they were aware of the negative ramifications that were going to come with producing SH5, they knew in what state the game would be released, why produce the game if they weren't going to concentrate on supporting it fully down the track, why release a game that needs continued support, putting out a niche game, ie its support base limited, ie less sales ie less profits...
Rather than admitting their priorities do lie elsewhere, with much more lucrative markets/games
And perhaps not releasing SH5 at all and doing what they seem to be doing at the moment: focusing their attentions elsewhere.
Don't get me wrong, i am grateful for the release...

Well, Im very grateful they are optomizing the game for single core users, being that they have absolutely no obligation to do so when they min sys requirements calls for duo core, despite being at times frustrated with the wait, at least they are doing (for single core users) more than they need to, however, I still find it strange that so many who have much faster systems are having graphic issues with the game, and that support should be quicker, that is a shame that those addresses were not addressed much earlier. Still, despite all the dev's do on any game, there are always people who have issues with its playability, thus making patches a necessity, its just been par for the course with the advent of the internet and even the ability to patch up games, before you had to wait for a copy of CGN to get a patch, and before that, there was no such thing as a patch, however, I think the pre patch games worked the best right out of the box, but they were much more simple and still fun to play, microprose Gunship for the commodore 64 was a really cool game back in 86/87 when a lot of todays gamers were not even born. I can date myself even further and say we were the first on my block to have "pong" way back in the early 70's and the "blip blip blip" of such a simple game was still fascinating for a kid of 13
