I'm Martijn, 33, single, and one son. I am a .NET developer (mostly, I do other languages too), and run two business, one which publishes it's own software to consumer and business market, and the other is which I do most of the work for as of late (bigger freelance webdevelopment projects). I also developed and host a CMS for websites, which is mostly used by freelance friends of mine (designers).

I got introduced to the SH-series at version 3, but I remember playing submarine sims for much longer (although I can't remember the titles). In the past I favored FPS games (played world leagues/tournaments), but the past 5-6 years I rather play RTS and sims because of the slower pace. When SH4 was released I started work on the freely available mod-tool S3D (signature), which has become very popular. It took almost 2 years to make, so I must admit I enjoy that SH5 comes with good modding tools, because I did not see me do it again for SH5 I will not purchase SH5 for a while, because I have very little free time but I will at some point probably. In the little free time I have left I rather play in my 5-man band (I'm the guy on the right, chewing on the pick ):

Geez, Skwas! All this time and I never knew that you played too! Got any links to your stuff? Videos? Go to General Topics and post them so I can see and hear. That's what I do.

Pleased to meet you All,

My name is Rob, 46, from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Journeyman Sheet Metal Mechanic, Bachelor of Medical Science, nub rock drummer extraordinaire.

The book Run Silent Run Deep is to blame for all of this

I've been into video/PC games of all genres since the days of the first machines. Silent Service and SS2 got me into sub sims. First PC was a 386 and I played Red Baron and Wolfpack on that. 486 followed with Aces of the Pacific/ over Europe, and Aces of the Deep! Played that sucker for years

I've owned all of the Silent Hunter games, including as of today and despite my misgivings about the DRM, SH5. Have friends over every other Saturday for IL2 flight-night. Also do Falcon 4.

Girlfriend likes WoW so play that too.

Hehe, we compose dutch music though, so you won't understand the lyrics. I only have old recordings right now (over a year old) except for one song. Currently we are in the studio (since a few months) for higher quality and some rearrangements.

Here's some songs: http://www.vlucht13.nl/muziek/

In two weeks we play in a contest for the new 'National dutch song for Amsterdam harbor' (8 finalists from 200 applicants), it's the first song on that page. It's not really our style, but the free advertising is great...

Damn, now you can see other photo's too (and I was trying to hide)

Martyn, 28, living in middle England. Happily married, no kids (yet). Qualified aero engineer, but ended up working in IT. No, I don't understand either.

Long time gamer, starting out on a Spectrum then an Amiga. SH3 was my first proper subsim, and despite spending more hours on that game than possibly any other, I never managed to play a career beyond 1940. Consequently, I never received a real good depth charging, and also never died. Hurrah! I'm simply a victim of my own self-inflicted insistence to do things properly and avoid cutting corners, so it takes me forever to make one patrol. Then, with each incarnation of GWX I restarted my career, before 1941 ever came into view. I skipped SH4 completely - my old PC wouldn't have coped.

Primarily a flight simmer, I use FSX at the moment. Currently hauling freight around Australia with Air Hauler. Used to play IL-2 online in a squadron for many years before moving onto more relaxed flying duties, not involving gunfire (yes, I'm an old man now). Real planes have propellers, btw Also play strategy games and action/adventure/RPG types. Recently got back into playing Oblivion and chanced across links to realism mods in another thread on this board yesterday - fancy that! Alas, soon it shall be abandoned once again when SH5 arrives...

I play guitar, although somewhat poorly (who can find time to practise with so many games to play???), so in an undignified effort to boost my ego I picked up a second-hand PS3 with Guitar Hero so now I can really rock (or so I pretend!). Can't condone consoles otherwise - they're for girls (just kidding). Like to listen to Dream Theater, Metallica, Symphony X, Iron Maiden, and loads more besides. Distorted guitar makes the world go round That, and a good cup of tea, of course.

I tend to drift to and from communities such as this one. I get too involved in reading all the threads and end up spending no time playing the games I'm reading about. So I drift away and get playing ... but then the desire to learn about mods brings me back, and I end up modding & reading forums till the cows come home, and actually stop playing again. It's a difficult struggle we face in life, isn't it...?

hey world, Im Brett 40, living in San Francisco area California. I studied film and history in college (university of Michigan, Ann Arbor), now im a 3d artist in the animation industry (occasionally, I work in games industry). I love playing simulators, (mostly Sh3 and Arma2 now). Hobbies include model making, hiking, playing bass, reading, traveling (backpacked around the world once) and Porsche's (only have one). Love ancient and medieval history and all things WW2- (My dad was in the Normandy invasion, Omaha beach, so I get it from him although he didn't love ww2) Love, Das Boot, and have a strange fixation for submarines (maybe after I watched Yellow Submarine as a kid?). Love subsim, find it to be the best online community so far, and think people into submarine sims are very interesting and pleasingly odd, like me.

Don't have Sh5 yet, but I will probably get it soon enough.

Default Hi,,bio

Hi
I'm Kent, 50, living in Michigan USA since 14 years back. I'm Swedish by birth. Married with a girl from Kentucky since 12 years back. Love motorcycles, drive a M109R.
I've been into computers since childhood..LOL, well it started with Zinclair and Amiga and onwards. Did some beta testing that went more "advanced" down the road. Have done QA testing for I-War patch 1.24 and also final Multiplayer QA testing for H&D 2 add-on. I've played SH series since it came out with SH1. I'm a big Microprose sim fan.
My home is just games and instruments. ( Sold a an ARP Pro Dgx some time back). Also love my pets, Discus fish and tarantulas.

I'm a musician, played in rockband for 10 years with 1 single released that went on charts for some time. Played piano since I was 7. I still write music and really love it.
Well,, that's about it.....

P.S. oh,,my SH5 is on it's way......
P.S. # 2 oh forgot: RED WINGS GO!!!
