Stupid, actually. I constantly get into conflict with myself in these kinds of issues. My desire to improve my relationship with God gets in the way of the rest of me that would simply like to dispose of the scumbags...

Follow my advise that I alraedy said above: being determined is enough. Make sure society is safe from them, and lock them away.

Never love the other too much - you do not know if the other later changes and hates you in return, or you learn to hate him.

Never hate the other too much - you do not know if the other later will learn to love, or you love him.

Being determined in protecting society from them - really, that is enough. i do not know if after 2o years these rats will have turned into better or worse beings - karma will get them what they deserve anyway for all action has reaction, and what foce you inflict inevitably returns, and as long as we are safe from them, they are not of any further interest for us anyway.

And you probably are neither worthless, nor stupid, DI! You just allow your emotions to take over. Imagine what Yoda would have to say on that.

That job can be... emotionally taxing. My friends fiancee works with special needs, many do not live all that long. Modern medicine means we have more people like this now, than in the past, when they would have perished at birth. What is really impressive, is the spirit some of these children possess. It's just a lot harder to see.

It takes a special person to be in this line of work and perform well.

You do realize that Yoda is a fictitious movie character, right? :p

I am more behind the scenes, but try to get out to our various programs as much as I can. It helps to keep me grounded and better do my job. People with disabilities can contribute to society in a big way with the proper supports in place.

The way people treat the helpless is the most basic thermometer of a society.

This is not just a USA problem, either.

Honestly, this is yet another reason I feel that humans are a failed species.

When a species becomes its own predator....

We laugh at the dinosaurs but they lived for 300-500 Million years

Humans? 60,000 years and no one will give you odds of us making even to the first 100K

I imagine that what ever gods there are up there are looking down are saying "well, THAT did not seem to work out too well."

If I had to believe in God, I'd either choose Buddha or the Greek pagan beliefs (I kind of like the idea of being a pawn in a great universal game that we have no control over). Unfortunately, humans are just another species in an endless and vast universe, spread out in an atom-sized cove in the gulf of space, living on a placid island of ignorance in the black seas of infinity.

What a sad story Neal.
I am speechless as well.
The degree of evil here is eye opening.

All I know with all my heart is the helpless and victums like this are usherd into heaven to the front of the line with angels administering to them.Rest in peace Dear sister and child. This kind of act can only be properly judged by God is my belief.Prision and or death sentence does not begin to pay for such acts.

Vengence is mine saith the Lord.

Carl Sagan countered Fermi's Paradox with the idea that all advanced civilisations destroy themselves before they reach interstellar travel.

RIP Carl.
