Oh Jim, I am so, so sorry to hear about Dylans departure. I like to believe that we'll see them all again one day, but they leave such a big hole, even the little ones with their massive personalities.
Fare ye well Dylan, look after your Grandad.

very sad news. Take some satisfaction that you gave your friend a good safe home with companionship. That's all a dog asks for.
“It came to me that every time I lose a dog, they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.”

So sorry to hear of this loss to you and your family. Our critters really do weasel their way into our hearts and saying goodbye to them is never easy especially when it comes down to making that last difficult decision. But he had a longish life for a pup, and it was most likely a better one than he would have had without you.

RIP Dylan, you'll surely be missed.

Sorry to hear about your loss of a good family member. I've been there myself, it's never easy, and not an enjoyable decision.

I'm so sorry for your loss. There's nothing like coming home after a crappy day, and then your dog comes up to you, and it's like nothing ever happened.

The Frau was complaining that I spend more time greeting the dog than I do her. I told her that when I come home, the dogs stop what they are doing, run to the door to greet me and act like they truly are happy to see me.

Yeah, that did not go over well.

my condoleances Jim, I am afraid I won't be far behind you. My older dog Watson who is now 13 1/2 has really slowed down over the past year. He is now almost totally blind and deaf. I dont think he will last another six months. We have had him since he was a pup and he is a member of the family.

HeHe, my wife tells me the dogs will park themselves out front about a half-hour before I usually come in from work and wait. Dogs are wonderful.

Although four legs and definitely not human, they are nevertheless always an integral and loved part of the family, aren't they. We/my parents had dogs ourselves, I know how sad it is to not have them tapping around any longer.

I'm feeling with you.

Sincerest condolences on the loss of your friend Jim.

15.5 is a ripe old age for a quadruped, equivalent to 75 in human years.

Some say that they are just dumb animals. I pity those who see them that way. Most of them have more brains than their human counter parts and hearts as large as the universe.

Very very sorry Jim...

I'm dreading the day that I have to go through this. My Boston Terrier is 5 right now and I love her to death.

Couldn't imagine.....
